WHAT DO SPECIALIST HAEMATOLOGISTS DO?

HAEMATOLOGISTS

Haematologists are specialist physician doctors who have additional specialist training and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of all disorders of the blood system in the body (haematological system). This not only includes the blood cells and fluid itself, but also the lymph nodes and organs of the body (including the spleen).

Common conditions treated include clotting or bleeding disorders, malignancies of the blood system (eg lymphoma, leukaemia), and chronic blood disorders.

Usually you have been referred by your GP/Specialist, who may be concerned about one of these conditions, or simply want to have a thorough check of your blood system.

Stephanie and Lisa are experienced clinical specialist haematologists, who pride themselves in caring for patients with these conditions on a daily basis, working collaboratively with other care providers to provide our patients with the best outcomes in all areas of their health.
